Blessed Chinese New Year!
An Update on Bible Phonics
It was very interesting to observe the learning curve of each child; each has a unique way to grasp what was being taught and some did things differently. For instance, one boy was very innovative in putting the word blocks back in a box. He stacked all the blocks neatly like a “tall, straight building” and then try to put the box over it. Very innovative and forward thinking indeed! The boy had speed and efficiency on his mind. (The author who did the observation was quite amused!) And there was this girl who was the brightest among the lot; she did things independently without consulting the teacher’s helpers. And yet another, observe what the rest were doing and helped the weaker ones. It was amazing to see how these children interact and respond to the learning.
If you are a parent with children in 6-7 years old age range, you can send them for the classes in PHCC; if you have not already done so. It is only once a week; every Saturday from 4.30pm-6.30pm with a minimal fee, RM40 per month. The benefits of them joining are many; do consider giving your child a chance to have the experiential learning!

A Synopsis on The Musical Shoes....

Busy! Busy! Busy! That’s Nick before he met Boy. Busy with getting the musical performance going. Busy with his job as a creative director. Busy was the buzz word for Nick; juggling everything to perfection was his aim; to the extend he doesn’t even have time to go back home to have lunch with his mother on Christmas Day. Till one day, God uses Boy and a pair of shoes to help Nick realize the true meaning of Christmas.
“Hey,” Nick said.
“I am sorry sir, but I am in a hurry to get a pair of shoes for my mummy,” Boy replied; when in a hurry he bumped into Nick.
Curious, Nick went to check the reason for Boy’s haste. In a shoes shop was Boy; desperately wanting to buy a pair of shoes but was too poor to get it. Out of compassion, Nick handed him the money and Boy took Nick back home with him.
Upon reaching home, Boy found it was already too late. His mummy has gone home to be with Jesus. At this point, it dawned on Nick, that there must be more to life than chasing for material possessions, status and fame. It is called Heavenly Love; the meeting with Boy was not by chance; but a divine appointment set by God to show Nick the true meaning of Christmas.
The ending? You got it right! Nick went back home to have lunch with his mother for Christmas.

Mid Autumn Review

The event was totally cultural with the Great Commissions Social Concern Bhd putting together a splendid program for the night. I particularly liked the traditional Chinese music with the traditional instruments. I was also pleasantly surprised that the young people had hip-hop dances for the night. Our calligrapher guests artist was the last one to leave as he was so busy writing away calligraphic materials to give-away.
What is mid-autumn celebration without moon cakes, chinese tea, baby yam and pomeloes ? Some do not know that these are part of our traditional food for the season. The moon cakes were in abundance, as well as the baby yam! There was a heap of pomeloes left after the event! I guessed modern people have somehow lost some of these good stuff or maybe beginning to lose them.
